To increase the facilities of the Hostel a piano was acquired for the “Icehouse” dinning room. The Ed. Seidel piano dates from around 1900 and is well suited to its new surroundings. It gave its first performance in its new home on 8 January 2008, when Bernadeta Parchanska accompanied a small group of friends singing Christmas carols. Those present agreed that the piano had a great tone, the pianist was highly accomplished and the acoustics in the “Icehouse” were excellent. The piano is sure to give many hours of pleasure to guests in the future.
